Scholarship Terms

  1. The award is for Autumn 2026 entry only.
  2. It cannot be deferred or combined with other University of Sheffield scholarships.

  4. The stipend is paid in four instalments during the academic year.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for a Siddall Sheffield Scholarship students must:

  1. Be a US citizen who has formerly studied in the US, a non-UK resident, and not lived in the UK.
  2. Hold a Bachelor degree in a relevant field before departure to the UK.
  3. Have a preferred GPA of 3.7 or higher.


Application Procedure

To apply for the 2026 Siddall Sheffield Scholarship, students must:

  1. Submit an online application by 13 January 2026 (5pm UK time).
  2. Include a 500-word proposal for a research project in engineering.
  3. Provide a 500-word civic engagement essay demonstrating contributions to the community.
  4. Attach an academic reference letter from a university faculty member.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an online interview in March 2026, with final decisions announced by 31 March 2026.

Selection Criteria

Applications will be evaluated based on:

  1. Academic merit (50%) – Proven academic excellence and technical innovation.
  2. Research contribution (25%) – Relevance of the proposed project to the Faculty of Engineering’s research.
