Description

East Tennessee State University (ETSU) is proud to announce the expansion of its International Merit Scholarships program, designed to support new degree-seeking international students. All students applying for admission to ETSU are automatically considered for these prestigious scholarships, which recognize academic excellence without the need for a separate application. Undergraduate students can now benefit from scholarships such as the Blue Scholarship ($5,000/year) for students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, the Gold Scholarship ($7,000/year) for students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and the Elite Scholarship ($9,000/year) for students with a GPA of 3.75 or higher. For graduate students, the Masters Merit Scholarship offers $5,000 per year and the Doctoral Merit Scholarship provides $9,000 per year, both requiring a minimum GPA of 3.0.

To be eligible for an International Merit Scholarship at ETSU, students must be admitted as degree-seeking students, possess or plan to obtain an F-1 or J-1 student visa, and have earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher in their previous coursework. This includes a 3.0 GPA in high school for freshman applicants, in previous university coursework for transfer applicants, and in undergraduate coursework for graduate applicants. The scholarships are limited to 8 semesters for undergraduates and 5 semesters for graduate students, provided the recipients maintain the minimum eligibility requirements. The scholarships cannot be combined with other awards covering out-of-state/international tuition costs.
