Eligible Nationalities

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Possess a strong research background, typically demonstrated by a postdoctoral qualification or equivalent experience.
- Be based outside of the UK at the time of application.
- Hold permanent or fixed-term employment (fixed-term contracts must extend beyond the fellowship's duration).
- Be independent scholars or affiliated with an institution.
- Have established prior contact with a UK host institution (The British Academy cannot assist in finding or facilitating this connection).
- A wide range of UK host institutions are welcome to nominate candidates. The program particularly seeks applications from:
- Historically underrepresented groups and those facing structural disadvantages.
- Researchers from low-income countries.
- Female researchers.
