Grant Coverage:
The mobility grant encompasses both a fixed-rate travel stipend and a fixed-rate residence stipend. For the academic year 2024-2025, the following fixed rates are applicable:
Travel Stipend:
- NOK 3,000 for travel from countries in Europe.
- NOK 4,500 for travel from St. Petersburg and Moscow in Russia.
- NOK 6,000 for travel from other cities in Russia, other Eurasian countries, and countries outside of Europe.
Residence Stipend:
- The stipend aligns with the rates established by The Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund for basic support.
- The residence stipend amounts to NOK 12,500 per month for the academic year 2023-2024.
Duration:
- The stipend is awarded for a flexible duration of one, two, or three months, providing versatility to accommodate varying academic needs and research timelines.

Special Consideration:
In cases where applicants are not affiliated with a Department of Nordic/Scandinavian studies, their applications may still be reviewed under the following conditions:

Project Preparation:
- Develop a comprehensive project description.
- Contact a lecturer or researcher in Norway specializing in your chosen subject area. Confirm their willingness to guide you during your stay.
Documentation Gathering:
- Obtain a letter of support from your supervisor at your home institution.
- Request an invitation letter from your host institution in Norway.
- Collect mandatory attachments:
- Recommendation letter from the home institution tutor.
- Personal invitation letter from the Norwegian institution.
- Copy of your passport.
Online Application:
- Complete the online application form in Espresso. The application can be written in English or Norwegian.
Submission:
- Ensure all mandatory attachments are attached to your online application.
- Submit the application before the specified deadline.
Assessment Process:
- All applications undergo internal assessment by HK-dir and are processed by the Program Committee for Norwegian Studies Abroad.
- During the assessment, the project's relevance, design, and implementation are evaluated.
Outcome Notification:
- The assessment process is targeted to be finalized in late April 2024.
- Applicants will be informed of the outcome via email.

Submission Method:
All applications must be submitted online through HK-dir's digital application form, Espresso. It is crucial to note that applications sent via email will not be assessed.
Additional Practical Information:
- Grant recipients are responsible for securing housing during their stay in Norway, as HK-dir does not provide housing.
- Grant recipients requiring a visa should apply as early as possible at the nearest Norwegian embassy or consulate. The grant cannot be disbursed if a visa to enter Norway is rejected.
