What is the Karlstad University Global Scholarship?
The Karlstad University Global Scholarship is aimed at exceptional students from non-EU/EEA countries and Switzerland who are required to pay tuition fees for their studies. Depending on your academic performance and qualifications, the scholarship can cover 25%, 50%, 75%, or even 100% of your tuition fees. However, it does not cover living expenses, so students must demonstrate financial capability to sustain themselves in Sweden, as required by the Swedish Migration Board.

Scholarships for Specific Countries
Students from 32 specified countries, including Armenia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Georgia, Guatemala, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Liberia, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Morocco, Nigeria, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, Ukraine, Vietnam, and Zambia. are not eligible for the Karlstad University Global Scholarship. These students should instead apply for the Swedish Institute Study Scholarships.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Karlstad University Global Scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be from a country outside the EU/EEA or Switzerland.
- Have received an admission offer for a programme starting in the fall semester.
- Not have lived in Sweden for more than two years when the scholarship period begins.
- Not hold a permanent residence or work permit in Sweden.
- Not already possess a master’s degree from a Swedish university.
- Not have received a scholarship from the Swedish Institute or other Swedish institutions.
Scholarship Conditions
The Karlstad University Global Scholarship is specific to the programme for which it is awarded. Important conditions include:
- Non-Deferral: If you defer your admission to a later academic year, the scholarship offer becomes invalid.
- Programme Changes: Changing your programme may result in the loss of the scholarship.
- Award Percentage: The scholarship percentage (25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%) will be detailed in the award notification and directly deducted from your tuition fees.
