As a Clegg Scholar, you'll engage in a dynamic, 16-day virtual placement with The BMJ and BMJ Student, with potential for in-office experience at The BMJ's London headquarters. This program is tailored to suit your interests, offering the opportunity to:
- Pitch and write articles for BMJ Student and other sections.
- Edit and research content aimed at medical students.
- Create multimedia and social media content for The BMJ’s platforms.
- Virtually attend press conferences and conduct interviews.
This flexible placement allows students to tailor their experience, whether as part of their medical elective or an extracurricular endeavor.
Application Procedure
To apply for the 2025 BMJ Clegg Scholarship, submit the following in one document:
- Cover Letter: (Maximum 400 words) Explain why you’re suitable for the position, your availability (March-June 2025), your medical school, and current year of study.
- CV: Maximum 2 pages.
- Sample Article: Write a BMJ Opinion-style article on a topic you’d like to publish as a Clegg Scholar.
Submission Deadline
Applications close at 9 am on Monday, 13 January 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed via video call in February 2025.
