The annual tuition fee at XJTLU is RMB 93,000, but there are numerous ways to reduce this cost:

1. Early Bird Discount

Eligible Nationalities

These scholarships are open for international students of all nationalities.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for International Student Status:

  • 4-4-2 Policy: Must provide proof of holding a foreign passport for at least 4 years and living outside China for at least 2 of the past 4 years.
  • Applicants with Chinese heritage must provide evidence of renounced Chinese citizenship and Hukou cancellation.
  • Failure to meet criteria or withholding information may result in application rejection or ineligibility for a degree.

Entry Requirements for XJTLU

1. Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan Students

Year One Entry:

Students can apply with the following qualifications:
  • Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)
  • General Scholastic Ability Test (GSAT)
  • HKDSE
  • Exam for Macau recommended students

2. International Students

Year One Entry:


  • High school or equivalent qualifications with a minimum B average in all subjects, including relevant subjects.


Year Two Entry:

Completed A-levels, International Baccalaureate (IB), or equivalent with:

  • A-level: BBB
  • IB Diploma: 30 points
  • AP Exams or ACT Tests:
  • High school diploma with a GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above and:3 AP exams: 4, 4, 4

OR SAT I: 1280 or ACT: 27, plus 2 AP exams: 4, 4

3. Notes for Specific Programmes

Architecture, Filmmaking, TV Production, and Digital Media Arts:


  • Require a portfolio review and an interview (in person or online).


BA International Business with a Language:


  • International students study Chinese; Hong Kong/Macau/Taiwan students study Spanish or Japanese (A1 level in DELE/SIELE or N5 in JLPT required for Year Two entry).


BA Translation and Interpreting:


  • Non-native Chinese speakers require HSK Level 6 or pass an aptitude test by the department.


Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, etc.:


  • Require Mathematics and Physics.


Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Chemistry, etc.:


  • Require Mathematics.


Architecture:

  • Year One entry: Mathematics required.
  • Year Two entry: Mathematics background desirable but not essential.

4. English Language Requirements

Year One Entry:

  • IELTS: 5.0 (min 4.5 in all sections)
  • TOEFL iBT: 62

Year Two Entry

  • IELTS: 6.5 (min 5.5 in all sections)
  • TOEFL iBT: 90 (min 21 in any skill)

Exemptions:


  • Students from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan who take the JEE or GSAT are exempt from English qualifications.
