This scholarship aims to address the critical health needs of individuals with intersex variations. Funded by the Department of Health and Aged Care, the research aligns with the Australian Human Rights Commission’s recommendations from the 2021 report, Ensuring Health and Bodily Integrity.
The Interconnect Health Research Project
This national initiative is driven by a multidisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, and community groups. Over five years, the project will execute three major work packages:
- Work Package 1: Evaluate clinical and peer-led care models in Canberra Health Services and the national InterLink psychosocial support service.
- Work Package 2: Conduct a national survey to assess the health and wellbeing needs of individuals with IVSC.
- Work Package 3: Develop bioethical frameworks to ensure timely, ethically sound healthcare access across the lifespan.
