Scholarship Description: The Faculty of Science is pleased to be able to offer around 10 fully-funded PhD Scholarships to UK/EU and international applicants showing exceptional research potential. The procedure is to apply to individual schools and departments based on the candidates research interests and their fit to the research individual schools conduct. Therefore the School of Geographical Sciences invites excellent candidates to apply using the procedure below for research topics in physical geography. Our core subjects are BRIDGE, Glaciology and Hydrology.

Duration of award: Scholarship is offered for 3.5 or 4 years.
What does it cover? These PhD Scholarships are for 3.5 or 4 years and are funded from University funds at the same level as Research Council (EPSRC, NERC, BBSRC, ESRC) studentships. The funding includes:
-full fees
-full stipend at Research Council level (£13,590 per year in 2012/13)
-research costs at the Research Council level appropriate to the discipline
