TWAS-ICCBS Pakistan Postgraduate Fellowship 2025 (Fully Funded)

Description

The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), in collaboration with the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, Pakistan, is offering the TWAS-ICCBS Postgraduate Fellowship Programme 2025. This prestigious program provides fully funded opportunities for young scientists from developing countries to pursue PhD research in chemical and biological sciences at one of South Asia’s leading research institutions.

Degree Level

The TWAS-ICCBS Postgraduate Fellowship supports PhD research in fields including organic chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular medicine, pharmacology, physical chemistry, and analytical chemistry. This program follows the sandwich model, allowing candidates to complete part of their PhD research at ICCBS while remaining registered at their home institutions.

Programme Duration

  1. Minimum: 6 months
  2. Maximum: 12 months (or as agreed with ICCBS)

Language of Instruction: English

Note: The stipend is non-convertible to foreign currency. Family members are not financially supported.

Eligible Nationalities

This fellowship is open to international students of developing countries.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  1. Be nationals of developing countries (other than Pakistan)
  2. Be aged 35 or younger by 31 December 2025
  3. Hold a Master’s degree in natural sciences
  4. Be registered PhD students in their home country (proof required)
  5. Provide a Preliminary Acceptance Letter from ICCBS
  6. Submit a No Objection Certificate from their home university
  7. Provide a certificate of good health
  8. Submit two signed reference letters
  9. Demonstrate English proficiency (if previous education was not in English)
  10. Commit to returning to their home country after the fellowship

Applicants must not hold any visa for temporary or permanent residency in Pakistan or any developed country.
