Tianjin University (TJU) invites outstanding international students from Belt and Road partner countries to apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship – Silk Road Program 2025. This fully funded scholarship, established by the Ministry of Education of China, aims to enhance educational cooperation and cultivate highly skilled professionals in participating countries.

Eligibility Criteria
Citizenship:
- Must belong to one of the eligible countries listed above.
Age and Degree Requirements:
Bachelor’s applicants:
- High School diploma
- Under 25 years old
Master’s applicants:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Under 35 years old
PhD applicants:
- Master’s degree
- Under 40 years old
Moral and Legal Requirements:
- Good moral character
- Physically and mentally healthy
- Compliant with Chinese laws and Tianjin University regulations
Language Proficiency:
Chinese-taught programs:
- HSK Level 5 (minimum score 180)
- Native Chinese speakers or those with prior Chinese-medium education may be exempt
English-taught programs:
- TOEFL score of at least 80 or IELTS score of at least 6.0
- Native English speakers are exempt
- Applicants who studied in English can submit an English instruction certificate instead
Application Procedure
Application Materials
Applicants must upload the following documents to the Tianjin University application system:
- Scanned copies of High School, Bachelor, and Master diplomas (or pre-graduation certificates if degree is pending)
- Notarized academic transcripts
- Photocopy of passport (valid beyond March 1, 2026)
- Chinese or English proficiency certificates
- Study experience resume
- Form of Provisional Acceptance by a TJU Professor (optional for Bachelor, required for Master and PhD if available)
- Study or research plan:
- Bachelor’s: minimum 600 words
- Master’s: minimum 800 words
- PhD: minimum 1000 words
- Two recommendation letters (Master and PhD only)
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form
- Photocopy of current visa (if already in China)
- Certificate of Non-Criminal Record
- Guardian certificate (if under 18 as of September 1, 2025)
- Naturalization proof (if applicable)
- Awards, published papers, or research project evidence (Bachelor’s optional; required for PhD)
- CSC application form (signed) and additional materials for architecture applicants (portfolio, video presentation)
All documents must be in Chinese or English or accompanied by notarized translations.
