SUSI USA Exchange Program 2025 (Fully Funded)

Description

The Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) program for student leaders is a unique opportunity for young people from Pakistan to gain first-hand experience with American culture, government, and leadership principles. Hosted by prestigious U.S. universities, the SUSI program for 2025 offers two enriching experiences for Pakistani students: the Comparative Public Policymaking Program and the Madeleine K. Albright Young Women Leaders Program. Both programs provide students with a chance to explore American policymaking and enhance their leadership abilities, but each has a unique focus and target audience.

SUSI Student Leaders – Comparative Public Policymaking Program

Hosted by the University of Massachusetts Amherst, the Comparative Public Policymaking Program is designed for student leaders from Pakistan who are eager to learn about the intricacies of public policy and democracy in the United States. This program will compare U.S. policies with those of Pakistan, providing a comprehensive understanding of governance in both countries.

Participants will study policymaking at the federal, state, and local levels, with a focus on the diversity of the policymaking process. Sub-themes include civil rights and protections, food security, environmental policy, immigration, education, and leadership. This immersive program aims to enhance participants' knowledge of American institutions and governance, preparing them for future leadership roles. The program is scheduled to run from June to July 2025.

SUSI Madeleine K. Albright Young Women Leaders Program – Public Policy

Exclusively for female candidates, the Madeleine K. Albright Young Women Leaders Program is hosted by the University of Kansas. It aims to empower young Pakistani women by strengthening their understanding of democratic principles and enhancing leadership skills. Participants will be immersed in American society, culture, values, and institutions while also examining how U.S. government policies, business practices, and cultural norms impact women.

The program includes a focus on critical thinking, decision-making, management, and communication skills—essential qualities for young women who aspire to leadership positions. Students will also explore key historical events as well as contemporary American life, covering current political, social, and economic debates. This enriching experience will run from June to July 2025.
