Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Study in Canada Scholarships, candidates must:
Be enrolled full-time in a post-secondary institution in their home country.
Pay tuition fees to their home institution for the full duration of the scholarship.
Who is NOT Eligible?
Candidates are not eligible if they:
Hold or have applied for Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.
Are already enrolled in a degree, diploma, or certificate program in Canada.
Are currently benefiting from another Canadian government-funded scholarship.
Selection Criteria
Scholarships are awarded based on:
Merit of research or study proposal.
Impact on the home institution and peers.
Potential contributions to the Canadian institution.
Strength of the academic and cultural exchange links.
Priority is given to students who have not received a Study in Canada Scholarship before.
Application Procedure
International students cannot apply directly. Instead, their home institution must partner with a Canadian institution, which will submit the application on their behalf.
Steps to Apply:
Contact the international office at your home university to check for student exchange agreements with Canadian institutions.
If an agreement exists, request to be nominated for the scholarship.
The Canadian institution will apply on your behalf by submitting the required documents.
Once selected, apply for a Canadian visa or study/work permit as early as possible to avoid delays.
Important Dates
Application Deadline for Canadian Institutions: March 18, 2025 (11:59 PM EDT).
Notification of Results: Spring 2025.
Arrival in Canada: Between August 1, 2025, and February 1, 2026.
