STP of Information Group
The Specialised Training Program for Grade-17 officers of the Information Group is carried out at the Information Service Academy in Islamabad. The duration of the program is 9 months. The core subjects taught at the academy are as follows:
· Mass Communication
· Journalism
· Public Relations
· Current Affairs
· English Language
· Information Technology
Other than the courses mentioned above, the STP also has book review as a graded activity. Moreover, there are also departmental attachments of officers to have real job experience and study tours to apprise them of the situation of the country, which are both graded activities. Furthermore, the officers are also required to submit a research paper on a topic assigned by the head. Therefore, the list of activities taking place at this STP and the present CTP is almost the same.
