Eligibility Criteria
Master's Program
Application Requirements:
- Non-Chinese citizens in good health with a valid passport
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with excellent academic performance
- Preferably under 35 years of age
- Not receiving other scholarships from Chinese Government or universities
Doctoral Program
Application Requirements:
- Non-Chinese citizens in good health with a valid passport
- Master’s degree or equivalent with excellent academic performance
- Preferably under 40 years of age
- Not receiving other scholarships from Chinese Government or universities.
Application Procedure
Applicants must apply through the Soochow University International Student Service System and later submit the required documents to the China Scholarship Council portal using Agency Number 10285 (Program Category Type B).
Application Requirements
- Valid passport
- Notarized highest diploma and academic transcripts
- Language proficiency (HSK 5 for Chinese-taught; TOEFL ≥80 / IELTS ≥6.0 for English-taught)
- Two recommendation letters
- Study plan (minimum 1,000 words)
- Health certificate and non-criminal record report
- Financial guarantee letter
Tuition Fees (For Self-Sponsored Students)
- Master's Programs: RMB 14,000–20,000/semester
- Doctoral Programs: RMB 16,000–25,000/semester
- Application Fee: RMB 650 (non-refundable)
