Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Admission Status: Must have applied for or secured admission into a PhD program at SUA
- Academic Qualifications:
- MSc in Biology, Crop Protection, Entomology, Crop Science, or a related field
- Minimum GPA of 3.8/5.0 in BSc and 4.0/5.0 in MSc from an accredited university
- Nationality & Age: Must be a Tanzanian citizen, not older than 35 years as of March 1, 2025
- Research Background: Knowledge of integrated pest management is required; experience with tephritid fruit flies is an advantage
- Fieldwork Readiness: Willingness to participate in field surveys in Tanzania
- Data Analysis Skills:
- Strong knowledge of R programming for data analysis
- Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is an added advantage
- Communication Skills: Proficiency in English (oral and written)
- Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Morogoro, Tanzania
