Yokohama National University (YNU) in Japan invites applications for the CSC-YNU Joint Scholarship Program for the academic year 2025-2026. This program is specifically tailored for Chinese students seeking doctoral studies, co-supervised doctoral research, or postdoctoral fellowships in collaboration with the China Scholarship Council (CSC).
Degree Level
The degree levels offered under the CSC-YNU Joint Scholarship Program are:
- Doctoral Students (PhD): This scholarship is for students pursuing full-time doctoral studies in various graduate schools at Yokohama National University.
- Co-supervised Doctoral Study Students: This is for students who wish to carry out part of their doctoral research at Yokohama National University in collaboration with their home institution.
- Postdoctoral Fellows: This category is for individuals who have completed their doctoral degree and are interested in postdoctoral research opportunities at YNU.

Scholarships Opportunities Offered:
1. Doctoral Students
YNU provides full scholarships for Chinese doctoral students enrolling in its graduate schools in October 2025 or April 2026. The participating graduate schools and their respective programs include:
- Graduate School of International Social Sciences (Quota: 5 doctoral students)
- Graduate School of Engineering Science
- Graduate School of Environment and Information Sciences
- Graduate School of Urban Innovation
Note: Some programs like the International Ph.D. Program in Economics require earlier applications (October 15–November 5, 2024).
2. Co-supervised Doctoral Study Students
For students wishing to pursue part of their doctoral research at YNU, this program allows special research enrollment between October 2025 and March 2026. Approximately 10 students are admitted under this category.
3. Visiting Fellows/Postdoctoral Fellows
YNU also offers research opportunities for Chinese scholars:- Visiting Fellows: Research periods of 3–12 months.
- Postdoctoral Fellows: Research periods of 6–24 months.

Application Procedure
1. Eligibility Check
Candidates must have a master’s program GPA of 2.30 (out of 3.00) or above. Ensure other academic and language qualifications are met.
2. Find a Prospective Advisor Identify a faculty advisor from YNU's list.
Secure a Conditional Acceptance Form by consulting with the advisor.
3. Submit Application Documents
Submit documents online between January 13 and January 28, 2025 (Doctoral Students) or January 15 and January 30, 2024 (Co-supervised Students).
