The Overseas Korean Student Scholarship Program 2025 is now accepting applications for fully funded undergraduate, master’s, and PhD degrees in South Korea. This program supports talented students of Korean descent living abroad, offering a generous monthly stipend of KRW 1,100,000, a round-trip flight ticket, insurance, and additional support for cultural integration and academic success. The application deadline is April 7, 2025.
Program Overview
Administered by the Overseas Koreans Foundation, this scholarship aims to cultivate global Korean leaders who can contribute to the development of both their country of residence and South Korea. In addition to financial aid, the program also offers rich cultural and mentoring opportunities, including:
- Korean cultural and history experiences
- Networking through OKFriends activities
- Mentorship from professionals and scholars
- Community-building events across Korea and abroad

Eligible Nationalities
This scholarship is open to overseas Koreans with permanent residency or foreign citizenship (including Korean nationals living abroad)
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be overseas Koreans with permanent residency or foreign citizenship (including Korean nationals living abroad)
- Be honor students with high academic achievement and potential to contribute to society
- Have completed all previous education outside South Korea
- Be planning to enroll in a Korean university in the Fall 2025 (September) or Spring 2026 (March) semester
- Applicants already admitted and attending a Korean university as of March 2025 may also apply
Preference Will Be Given To:
- Descendants of notable overseas Koreans
- Students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds
- Those majoring in Science, Engineering, or Korean studies
- Korean adoptees and their children
- Students from multicultural families in Southeast Asia
- Applicants with proficiency in Korean (with test scores)

- Print and send the completed application form along with all required documents to your local public office

Review Process:
- April–May: Application review and interviews by Korean education centers
