Nokia Bell Labs will select three candidates to be given the following prizes, along with a unique opportunity to work within the world-renowned Nokia Bell Labs to further explore their ideas:
- 1st Prize - $100,000
- 2nd Prize - $50,000
- 3rd Prize - $25,000
Eligible Nationalities
International students are eligible to apply. The Bell Labs Prize is a competition open to individuals and teams of up to four people who are 21 years old or older and have an idea they own. The applicants must submit their idea in 250 words or less to be considered for the prize.
The deadline for application is April 1, 2023. The Bell Labs will award three prizes to the best ideas, with the highest award being $100,000.
Eligibility Criteria
Participants must meet the following criteria:
- Own their ideas
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Possess a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree
- Employees, partners, and consultants of Sponsor and its affiliates and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate in the Contest
- Interns employed by Nokia or Nokia Bell Labs or their affiliates are eligible to participate
- Teams of up to four are allowed to participate, provided each member of the team meets the full eligibility requirements
- Reside in one of the following countries:
United States, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada (except Quebec), China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, United Kingdom
Application Procedure
Individuals who are interested in participating can obtain application details on the Bell Labs website. The applicants must submit their idea in 250 words or less. The applicants must also hold a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree and be comfortable with the language of instruction.
