Benefits
For Secondary Students
Eligible students can receive $1,000 (excluding GST) to assist with:
- School fees
- School uniforms
- Stationery
- STEM school trips
- STEM programmes/courses
Note: This year’s secondary scholarships will not include digital devices as part of the benefits.
For Tertiary Students
STEM-focused tertiary students may receive up to $10,000 for one year of full-time study. This funding can cover:
- Tuition fees
- Compulsory course-related costs
- Accommodation in university halls
- Research or fieldwork expenses for PhD students
Eligible Nationalities
The Toloa Scholarships are open exclusively to New Zealand citizens or permanent residents of Pacific Islands descent.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility for Secondary Students
- Show commitment to Pacific culture, languages, identities, and communities
- Be enrolled in a New Zealand secondary school, alternative education, or verified homeschooling program
- Provide school reports and academic results for the 2024 academic year
- Be enrolled in STEM subjects:
- Years 9/10: At least two STEM subjects
- Years 11-13: At least three STEM subjects for 2025
Eligibility for Tertiary Students
- Show commitment to Pacific culture, languages, identities, and communities
- Be enrolled full-time in a STEM-related programme in 2025
- Provide proof of enrolment
Application Procedure
- Visit the Toloa Scholarships - Le Va website.
- Register an account on the Le Va application portal.
- Answer eligibility questions to confirm your qualification.
- Complete the application based on your education level.
- Agree to the declaration and upload required documents.
- Submit the application.
