Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the WFSA WCA2026 Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be anaesthesiologists who have completed their training within the last five years
- Be a member of their National Society of Anaesthesiologists
- Be from a low- or middle-income country
- Have at least a basic understanding of English
- Be a first-time scholarship recipient (not have received a WFSA scholarship previously)
Preferred Applicants
Preference will be given to:
- Early-career anaesthesiologists
- Those working in teaching hospitals
- Applicants who have submitted an abstract for WCA2026
- Candidates presenting a scholarly project at the congress
Application Procedure
- Application Period: 1 April – 20 April 2025
- Applications can be submitted online via the WFSA website, and a link will be available starting 1 April 2025.

A panel of WFSA and sponsor representatives will evaluate applications. Successful applicants will be notified by September 2025 and must confirm their acceptance within five days. If not confirmed, the scholarship will be offered to the next eligible candidate.
