The Mental Health and Neuroscience (MHeNs) Research Institute at Maastricht University (UM), Netherlands, is inviting expressions of interest from outstanding researchers to apply for the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship 2025.
This EU-funded fellowship is designed to support postdoctoral researchers in enhancing their academic and professional careers through international mobility and interdisciplinary research.

1. Neuroimaging and Neuromodulation
Supervisor: Prof. David Linden
Focus: Functional MRI-based neurofeedback, deep brain stimulation (DBS), motivation and emotion networks
2. Cognitive Neuroscience and Decision-Making
Supervisor: Dr. Dennis Hernaus
Focus: Motivation, reinforcement learning, value-based decision-making, mental illness, high-field imaging
3. Cerebrovascular Diseases
Supervisor: Dr. Sebastien Foulquier
Focus: Microcirculation, endothelial-glial interactions, vascular dementia, in vivo imaging
4. Non-Invasive Brain Monitoring in Critical Care
Supervisor: Dr. Marcel Aries
Focus: Development of real-time monitoring tools using AI, signal processing, and optical imaging
5. AI and Vision Restoration Modeling
Supervisors: Dr. Birke Benedikter and Dr. Mario Senden
Focus: Vision loss, retinal degeneration, computational vision science

Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must hold a PhD degree or expect to complete it by September 10, 2025
- Must not have resided or carried out main activity in the Netherlands for more than 12 months in the past 36 months
- Must be willing to relocate to Maastricht, Netherlands
