Tuition Support (All students):
Full coverage of tuition fees: 3,415,000 won per semester
Monthly Allowances (All International Students):
- Student Grant: 140,000 won per month for M.S. students, 295,000 won per month for Ph.D. students
- Meal Subsidy: Approximately 100,000 won per month※Students must have completed a minimum of 9 credits in the preceding semester for the above two.
- International Student Support: 120,000 won per month. Requires a GPA of 3.0 or higher (out of 4.5) in the previous semester
Research Support (All students involved in research projects):
- 4,820,000 won per year for M.S.
- 11,480,000 won per year for Ph.D.
Health Coverage (All International Students)
- 60% coverage of the Korean National Health Insurance fee.
- Annual Medical Checkup
Flight Compensation (All Incoming International Students)
- Reimbursement for a one-way flight to Korea

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must possess a Bachelor's Degree for admission to a Master's Program.
- Applicants must possess a Master's Degree for admission to the Doctoral Program.
Application Procedure
Step 1: Online Application Submission
Initiate your application journey by completing the online application form and uploading the requisite documents. Choose your field of study and meticulously fill out all relevant sections on the application form, accessible through the SERVICE LINK.
Step 2: Confirmation by International Admissions Coordinator
Once your application and required documents are received, the International Admissions Coordinator will reach out to you. Stay informed about your application status by checking the "My Status" section on the online application portal.
Step 3: Admissions Notification
Anticipate notification of the admissions results, which will be dispatched to the email address provided, approximately on June 15 for Fall admission and November 30 for Spring admission. Admitted candidates must respond to offers of admission within 15 days of notification.
Step 4: Enrollment Completion and Matriculation Fee Payment
Accept the offer of admission? Proceed to enroll at GIST within the stipulated deadline. Upon enrollment, you'll receive an admission packet including the Certificate of Admission, Certificate of Financial Sponsorship, and a Letter of Invitation. The completion of enrollment necessitates the reception of documents and payment of the non-refundable Matriculation Fee of 680,000 won.
Step 5: Student Visa Application
For those requiring a student visa, obtain the necessary application form from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in your home country. Attach the Certificate of Admission to the application form. Post-visa approval, liaise with the Section of International Relations (SIR) and your school or department staff for assistance in coordinating your travel to Korea.
English Requirements and Conditional Admission
Demonstrate your English language proficiency through official test results (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS). Minimum scores include 80 (TOEFL iBT), 550 (TOEFL PBT), 6.5 (Academic IELTS), 750 (TOEIC), and 285 (NEW TEPS). GIST may grant conditional admission in cases where official English test results are unavailable. Conditional admission necessitates the submission of documentation related to English proficiency within 6 months of admission.
Matriculation Fee Waiver Application
Applicants facing financial difficulties can apply for a Matriculation Fee waiver. Complete the waiver application within the online application form and upload a recommended letter from your department chair at the current/last university. The Admissions Committee will review and notify you along with the admission results.
