Scholarship Value
- Total Value: Up to €31,000 per year
- Stipend: €22,000 per year
- Tuition Fee Contribution: Up to €5,750 per year for all students, including non-EU students
- Research Expenses: Up to €3,250 per year for eligible direct research costs
Eligible Nationalities
- Open to students from the European Union (EU), Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, as well as international students globally, the scholarship program welcomes applicants at various levels of study.
Eligibility Criteria
- Preliminary Eligibility Check: All applicants must complete and pass a preliminary eligibility quiz before accessing the full application form. Please note that passing this quiz does not guarantee eligibility for the program.
- Eligibility Verification: The Irish Research Council reserves the right to verify applicant eligibility at any stage of the application process. Failure to meet eligibility criteria will result in application disqualification or withdrawal of any award offer.
- Age Limit: There is no age restriction for applicants.
- Institutional Affiliation: Applicants must be affiliated with an eligible Irish higher education institution or research-performing organization.
- Language of Application: Applications must be submitted in either Irish or English.
- Previous Applications: Applicants may not have had more than two unsuccessful applications to the same program, including strategic partner themes, regardless of changes in host institution or research topic.
