The Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS), School of Science and Technology, is excited to announce the opening of applications for the Master of Science in Environmental Health Programme, set to begin in September 2025. Degree Level
DAAD - MUBAS Scholarship 2025 (Fully Funded) is available to undertake Masters level programs at Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS).
Available Subjects
The MSc in Environmental Health is designed to equip students with comprehensive skills through two phases: coursework and a dissertation. During the coursework phase, students will engage in 10 core modules that cover critical areas in environmental and public health, including:
- Epidemiology and Biostatistics
- Environmental Pollution Control
- Food Safety and Hygiene
- Health Communication and Behaviour Change
- Global Health
- Occupational Safety and Health
- Health Project Management
- Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
- Geographical Information Systems (GIS) in Environmental Health Practice
After completing the coursework, students will undertake a research project that culminates in a dissertation. The programme is designed for full-time study over four semesters, which translates to two years.
Benefits
The DAAD scholarship covers the following benefits:
Tuition Fees:
- Paid annually.
- The regularly charged amount will be specified in the Letter of Award.
Study and Research Allowance:
- 460 EUR annually.
Thesis Publishing Costs:
- 400 EUR, provided once towards the end of the scholarship.
Monthly Scholarship (Accommodation, food, etc.):
- 300 EUR per month for In-Country students.
- 400 EUR per month for In-Region students.
Travel Allowance (In-Region only):
- Provided usually twice (at the beginning and end of the scholarship).
- The flat rate travel allowance will be specified in the Letter of Award.
Health Insurance (In-Region only):
- Paid annually.
Eligible Nationalities
This fully funded scholarship is open to both domestic and international students of all nationalities.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree with above-average academic performance:
- Credit, Distinction, or GPA of 2.5 or above.
- Degree must be from a recognised institution in one of the following fields:
- Environmental Health
- Public Health
- Related disciplines.
- Degree must have been awarded within the last six years.
- Female and underprivileged candidates are particularly encouraged to apply.
