Copernicus Berlin Germany International Excellence Scholarship Program 2025-2026 (Fully Funded)
Description
The Copernicus Berlin International Excellence Scholarship Programme (IES) 2025-26 is a prestigious initiative designed to foster cross-cultural academic exchange by providing students from Eastern and Southeastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia with the opportunity to study and live in Berlin for six months. This scholarship offers a unique platform for students with exceptional academic records to broaden their horizons, gain international experience, and immerse themselves in German culture.
Overview of the IES Programme
The IES Programme is meticulously structured to allow scholarship holders to study at some of Germany's leading universities, including Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR Berlin), and the University of Potsdam. The programme is tailored to students who are currently enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD programme and hail from eligible countries.
The scholarship programme extends beyond academic learning, offering a holistic experience that includes cultural events, social meetings, and professional development opportunities. The selected students are expected to actively engage in the life of the Copernicus Berlin association, thereby enriching their cultural and social understanding.
Academic and Professional Development
The IES Programme is not just about attending lectures; it is a comprehensive experience that includes an internship component. Scholarship holders are required to complete at least eight weeks of full-time internship during their stay in Berlin. This internship is an integral part of the programme, aimed at providing students with valuable international work experience and enhancing their professional and personal skills.
The study programme itself is limited to one semester, making it a concentrated period of learning and growth. The participating universities offer a wide range of courses, allowing students to select subjects that align with their academic interests and career aspirations.
