Benefits

CGU's doctoral scholarships are designed to attract and support talented international students. The financial package includes: 

  • Monthly stipend: NTD 30,000, shared between the academic advisor and CGU. 
  • Outstanding student scholarships: Up to an extra NTD 12,000 per month based on GRE scores or academic achievements. 
  • Tuition fee waiver: Starting from the third academic year, students only pay a credit fee of NTD 3,813 per semester.

Eligibility Criteria

Pre-Admission Requirements:

Language Proficiency: 

Applicants must provide a valid score in one of the following:

  • TOEFL ITP (523+), TOEFL iBT (69+), TOEIC (700+), IELTS (5.5+), FLPT (240+), or Linguaskill Business (160+).
Additional Scholarships for Outstanding Students:
  • Option I: GRE Quantitative Reasoning score between 160-170 can earn NTD 2,000 to 12,000 per month.
  • Option II: A master's degree from a QS Top 500 University within the last three years qualifies for an extra NTD 7,000 per month.

Post-Admission Requirements:

  • Regular evaluations by the academic advisor.
  • Completion of one Basic Chinese course in the first year.
  • Passing the qualifying examination for doctoral candidacy before the third year.

Application Procedure

The application process is semester-based, with deadlines for supporting documentation set as:

  • January 31, 2025 for Fall semester admission.
  • July 31, 2025 for Spring semester admission.

Students who meet the eligibility criteria after admission may claim scholarships retroactively, provided they submit required documents by the respective deadlines (e.g., February 28 2025 for Fall admission).

Additional Notes

  • The scholarship is available for a maximum of four years (8 semesters).
  • Students must maintain eligibility and comply with CGU's academic requirements to continue receiving funding.
  • Scholarships are not available beyond the normal study period or during a leave of absence, suspension, or withdrawal.
