Canon Collins RMTFP Scholarships 2025 for Postgraduate Studies South Africa is available to undertake Postgraduate level programs at South Africa Universities.

Available Subjects

2025 Scholarship Focus Areas:

In 2025, scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing studies in three key areas:

  • Justice: This broad category encompasses Climate Justice, Law, Economics, and Politics.
  • Education: Support extends to individuals focusing on Education policy and practice.
  • Humanities: This field includes disciplines like Literature, History, Anthropology, and the Arts.

Submit an application only if your program of study falls within these three areas.

Interdisciplinary courses and doctoral studies can be tricky to categorize. Use your judgment when deciding to apply. However, applications clearly outside Justice, Education, or Humanities (e.g., MBAs, standalone Economics, Medical Sciences, Sports Sciences, Applied Sciences) will not be considered for an award.

Funding Duration:

Scholarships provide funding for a maximum of two years (Master's) and three years (PhD). Continued funding depends on satisfactory academic progress and reports.

Benefits

  • The scholarship program offers funding for up to two years for Master's degrees and up to three years for PhD programs. The award amount varies depending on your individual circumstances, ranging from R20,000 to R100,000.
  • This program supports both full-time and part-time students, and even considers applications from those pursuing studies through distance learning.
  • There's also a strong emphasis on community and networking. Each year, a conference is held for current scholarship holders, along with several smaller events throughout the year. Eligible Nationalities

This scholarship is open to students from Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Swaziland, Zambia

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship program, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Citizenship or Refugee Status: You must be a citizen or hold refugee status in one of these countries: Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Swaziland, or Zambia.
  • Residency: You must be a normal resident of one of the listed countries.
  • Academic Qualifications: You must possess a strong first degree (minimum upper second class or equivalent) or be on track to graduate with such a degree in the year of application.
  • Study Location: You must be currently studying or planning to study at a South African university.
