The National Agency for Research and Development (ANID) is pleased to invite Chilean and foreign nationals with permanent residency in Chile to apply for the 2024 Magister Program for Education Professionals, part of the Becas Chile initiative. This program specifically targets education professionals within the Professional Development System who are currently employed in state-subsidized educational institutions, such as municipal schools, private subsidized schools, and those governed by DL 3.166, including technical-professional high schools under delegated administration. The program aims to develop advanced human capital in key areas including Curriculum, Evaluation, School Management, Learning, Disciplinary Area Deepening, Didactic Pedagogy, School Coexistence, Value Formation, and English Teaching, among others.


Applicants must be currently working in state-subsidized educational institutions in Chile and meet specific academic excellence criteria. The application process opens on June 4, 2024, with a deadline for inquiries on July 2, 2024, and final submissions due by July 9, 2024. Eligible Nationalities

This scholarship is open to all nationalities.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Citizenship: Be a Chilean citizen or a foreign resident with permanent residency in Chile (as of the application date).
  • Educational Qualification: Hold a teaching credential or educator title awarded by a Chilean normal school, university, or a foreign institution recognized by Chilean authorities.
  • Academic Achievement: Demonstrate academic excellence by meeting at least one of the following:
  • Achieve a minimum GPA of 5.0 out of 7.0 (or its equivalent on a 1-to-7 scale) in your bachelor's or professional degree.
  • Rank within the top 30% of your graduating class (refer to section 7.8.7 for documentation requirements on ranking verification).
Note: While only one of the above academic achievements is required, all applicants must submit documents outlined in sections 7.8.7 and 7.8.8 to calculate their "undergraduate academic background" score.
  • Professional Experience (Current): Be actively employed as an educator in a Chilean state-funded educational institution:
  1. Municipal schools
  2. Subsidized private schools
  3. High schools governed by Decree Law 3,166 (technical-professional high schools delegated to corporations)
