The Aga Khan Foundation Canada (AKFC) is now accepting applications for its Global Leadership Program 2025–26, a transformative leadership initiative designed to empower individuals committed to building a peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable world.

What is the AKFC Global Leadership Program?

The Global Leadership Program by Aga Khan Foundation Canada is a prestigious initiative that brings together a diverse cohort of Canadian leaders from across sectors. It offers participants the tools, knowledge, and international perspectives needed to understand complex global issues and lead with insight, ethics, and purpose.

Program Format:

  1. Online learning & virtual sessions
  2. In-person immersive seminar in Ottawa (Nov 2–6, 2025)
  3. Optional overseas experience (TBC – April 2026)
  4. Ongoing virtual engagement before and after the in-person session

Participants engage with thought leaders, collaborate on real-world challenges, and explore Canada’s role in global development.

Degree Level

Aga Khan Foundation Canada Global Leadership Program 2025 is available to undertake Conference level programs at Canada Universities.

What Will You Learn?

Key Themes:

  1. Global geopolitics, sustainability, and the impact of climate change
  2. The Fourth Industrial Revolution and the future of work
  3. Gender equality and Indigenous reconciliation in Canada
  4. Social inclusion, pluralism, and ethical leadership
  5. Poverty reduction and Canada's development priorities

Participants will examine these through lectures, case studies, simulations, group coaching, and peer-to-peer learning.

Nominal Fee: $100 CAD to secure your spot (financial waivers available)

Open to applicants of Canada.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, you must:

  1. Be a citizen or permanent resident of Canada
  2. Be fluent in English
  3. Be available to attend the in-person seminar in Ottawa (Nov 2–6, 2025)
  4. Commit to attending at least 10 virtual sessions
  5. Show a clear commitment to global leadership, equity, and inclusion

Program Costs:

  1. Free for selected applicants (includes travel, accommodation, and meals)
  2. $100 CAD nominal commitment fee (can be waived based on financial need)
